On October 3, 2022 my office sponsored the C-Note Dinner for Breast Cancer Awareness, along with the American Cancer Society. Thank you to all who attended, and for those who work alongside with me in helping bring awareness.
Reconstruction of a breast that has been removed due to cancer or other disease is one of the most rewarding surgical procedures available today. New techniques and devices have made it possible for surgeons to create a breast that can improve upon their natural breast.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Every third Wednesday in October is Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day (BRA Day). Here are a few photos of BRA Day throughout the years.
Due to Covid, unfortunately, we were not able to host BRADay2021 ; however, our office celebrates it every day, thanks to our amazing patients.
Frequently, reconstruction is possible immediately following breast removal (mastectomy). The non involved breast may also be lifted or reduced to better match the reconstructed breast. Reconstruction is commonly preformed with the patients own tissues from other parts of their body to avoid the un-natural feel and shape which may occur when implants are used
